Time... Precious Memories
During my morning break-fast time, I enjoyed a devotion about keeping your eyes fixed on JESUS and immediately, a beautiful melody arose in my spirit. As I began to recall the words, my humming turned into singing.
🎵Precious memories, how they linger, how they ever flood my soul...
I just kept right on singing as the images of my Mama sewing, the birth of each of my sons, a visit to the African American Museum, my baptism, my first dance, my first job, my first volunteer job, prayer walking, and so many more precious memories continued to overwhelm me. Then... I began to smile. The scripture from my BIBLE reading, Philippians chapter two, verse 13 punctuated my memories:
11 I recall the many miracles he did for me so long ago. 12 Those wonderful deeds are constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about them. 13 O God, your ways are holy. Where is there any other as mighty as you? 14 You are the God of miracles and wonders! You still demonstrate your awesome power.
"GOD is at work in you to help you both to want HIS good purpose and to work for it."
It was then I knew the joy I was experiencing was GOD at work in me helping me to both want HIS GOOD PURPOSE and THE WANT to work for it. It is in the precious moments I spend with GOD that HE reminds me of HIS WONDERS and MIRACLES in my life and all around me. This is the overwhelming JOY and GLADNESS that makes me burst into singing. I am so glad for the precious moments I have with GOD every morning.
